Hatch Cover/Access Way Sealing
Loss Prevention Surveys
- A “Loss Prevention Survey” is normally conducted for bagged / bulk agricultural products.
- Prior loading, the vessel’s hatch covers and hold access way are inspected to insure the rubber seals are intact; the ventilation shafts to insure they are clean, dry and suitable to load; and all internal pipe work and manhole covers to insure there are no signs of leakage.
- Whenever possible, we conduct a watertight hose test to the hatch covers.
- Oversee the loading to insure no damaged bags are loaded and/or no untoward incidents occur.
- Monitor the moisture of the cargo to insure that not exceed the allowable percentage and reject any bags that exceeded the allowable percentage or, when loading at Ko Sichang Anchorage, where rejection would create problems for the Shipper/charterer, and to insure that all bags with high moisture content are separated / rejected.
